Project Summary

On Nov. 5, the Arts District became a more hospitable place thanks to the opening of a half-acre park. The long-awaited facility provides much-needed green space in a community that is becoming increasingly crowded with residents and congested by vehicles on the streets. The team that made it happen, including the city Bureau of Engineering and the office of 14th District City Councilman José Huizar, who helped secure funding for the project, deserves immense credit. RecWest consulted with BOE and we developed a wonderful playground design with SmartPlay® equipment for young children, ages 2-5, and PlayBooster® and NetPlex® equipment for school age children ages 5-12.
